We are excited to announce that Bike and Brew ATX will participate in the upcoming cycling charity event, Gears for the Years, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 23 in the Dell Diamond Parking Lot, 3400 E Palm Valley, Round Rock. Our booth will be set up from 9 a.m. to noon. This ride will take place regardless of the weather, with the exception of dangerous weather conditions, such as lightning. Come find our booth and get your hands on some awesome new swag! We are also offering a special to anyone who signs up for a tour during this event: a free T-shirt on the day of the tour.
Just to make things even more fun, we’ll be hosting a drawing for a Bike and Brew ATX swag bag, which includes stickers, koozies, a T-shirt and a cap. Visitors to the booth can throw their name in a bucket for the drawing that will be held Oct. 28. You just need to complete a few steps: sign-up for our monthly newsletter (we promise not to spam you) and follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to see who we announce as the winner. We will announce two lucky winners, one via social media and one via our first newsletter.
Bike and Brew ATX will have a vendor booth setup and we have also donated a tour package for two as a raffle prize. Gears for the Years is a noncompetitive charity ride benefiting Family Eldercare and is designed for riders of all ages. The option to ride 25, 40 or 60 miles is yours, and your participation helps fund desperately needed client services in Travis and Williamson county. This event is also meant to offer a diverse and entertaining experience for riders that includes keeping things local and building on the amazing athletic community that is growing in Austin, so several of the vendors you’ll see at the event are local businesses.
Registration includes a T-shirt, fully-supported routes of 25, 40 or 60 miles including aid stations featuring food and drinks every 10-15 miles. An after-party will also be held, featuring food trucks, a beer garden, vendors, awesome raffle prizes and fun activities. Registration cost is $45. Donations are also welcomed and appreciated for attendees who do not wish to ride.
The event is still in need of volunteers. If you are unable to ride, but still want to help, definitely consider volunteering.
